KPMG appoints Partner and Director
KPMG has appointed John Ellul Sullivan as Partner and Clifford Delia as Director, with effect from 1 January 2017.
John joined KPMG in 2007, after graduating as a Doctor of Laws, and completed an Advanced Masters in International Taxation at the International Tax Centre, University of Leiden. John advises a variety of multinationals and high net worth individuals on their international corporate structures, as well as focuses on advising retirement scheme administrators on their operations in Malta.
Clifford joined KPMG in 2004 after successfully completing his Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) Degree at the University of Malta. Following a number of years working within the Audit function in Malta and Ireland, he joined the Accounting Support Services team in 2008. Clifford currently leads the firm’s accounting and payroll support service lines.
BDO Malta appoints Tax Partner
BDO Malta announces that Josef Mercieca has been admitted to partnership effective 1 January 2017. He will head the tax team in his new role as tax partner. Josef joined the firm in 2015 following a four year stint heading the indirect tax section with one of the Big 4 Audit Firms in Malta. He also acted as the tax director for one of the longest established Maltese audit firms for six years where he headed the Tax department.
Nexia BT appoints Luke Cann as director
Nexia BT has appointed Luke Cann as its 4th director within the company as from 1 January 2017. Luke will be responsible for business development within the firm. Luke joined Nexia BT in 2008 as part of the audit and assurance department. Later, he formed part of the team which was tasked at targeting specific service areas covering aviation and financial services. In 2014, Luke joined the advisory department as manager and was later promoted to senior manager within the same department. Luke graduated from the University of Malta with an Honours degree in Accountancy in 2008. In 2013, he obtained a Masters degree in Financial Services.
Chris Borg appointed Indirect Tax Principal at Deloitte Malta
Deloitte announces that Chris Borg has joined the firm in the position of principal, with effect from 1 January 2017. Chris previously held the position of managing director at Boston Multi Family Office, where he was responsible for all client, commercial, operational and regulatory matters of Boston Group in Malta. Prior to this, he led the provision of value added tax (VAT) services at another of the Big 4 firms. Chris is a Certified Public Accountant and a Fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants.
